Easy to reach

Located in the heart of Sweden and of Gävleborg county, Söderhamn is easy to reach. The X2000 high-speed train from Stockholm takes just two hours, and the journey by car will be almost as fast when the new motorway north of Uppsala opens.

Highway E4 passes right through the district, so long-distance buses also stop in Söderhamn. X-trafik operates public transport in the region, including regional trains between Gävle and Sundsvall.

In terms of area, Söderhamn is a fairly small municipality, so the distances are short. That means people can interact closely with one another and with local decision makers.
