Space to enjoy yourself

Söderhamn's lovely archipelago and varied scenery provide the setting for a wide range of memorable activities. There are numerous cycle routes and bridle paths, and you can explore the prettily winding back roads, stopping off at churches, folk parks, museums, and more unusual attractions such as Staffans Stupa (a memorial to an early Christian missionary) in Norrala and the Fejan Stone in Ljusne.

If you are heading out into the archipelago to swim and sunbathe, hop aboard M/S Moa, a boat that operates daily trips to a number of beautiful islands. The area also has plenty of swimming lakes, waymarked walks and canoe trails, and it is definitely worth bringing your fishing gear. Here's a tip: If you're hoping to catch a big salmon, head for the mouth of the Ljusnan river at Ljusne.

Golfers shouldn't miss the opportunity to play a round at Sofieholm, one of the finest and most attractive 18-hole courses in Northern Sweden.
